Mysuru, Nov 24: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president Dinesh Gundu Rao on Sunday said senior leaders of the party will undertake election campaign for the December 5 bypolls by touring 15 constituencies in the state starting tomorrow.
Refuting rumours that the leaders are not campaigning in the by-election because of Opposition leader Siddaramaiah's attitude, Mr Rao, while interacting with media persons here, said "Siddaramaiah is not alone as alleged by the BJP.
Mr Rao clarified that senior Congress leader Mallikarjuna Kharge, who was in charge of Maharashtra was busy in government formation, former Deputy Chief Minister Dr G Parameshwara was not keeping good health and former Minister D K Shivakumar is recovering from the shock after he was recently released from jail. All of them are expected to take part in the campaign from tomorrow.
Referring to disqualified MLA Vishwanath's statements, Mr Rao said he had great respect for him earlier but after he sold himself to BJP he lost credibility. The KPCC chief was here to campaign for Congress candidate Manjunath, who is contesting against Vishwanath in Hunsur December 5 Election. (UNI)
