Bengaluru, Sep 28: The Union government was expected to release funds in a day or two, Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa informed here on Saturday.
Speaking to the media, the Chief Minister maintained that the Union government which had received reports on the flood related havoc in many states, would release its financial assistance package in a day or two.
Maintaining that the state government had already initiated several remedial measures to help out the displaced people of the flood affected areas, Mr Yediyurappa said that 'We are awaiting Central government’s assistance to provide more relief'. 'The Union government have plans to announce the financial package to all the flood affected states in one go', he further said.
Referring to the announcement of the by-elections to the 15 Assembly seats, he stated that 'We are prepared to face it'. 'I am confident that the BJP will win all the seats in the by-elections', he affirmed.
On the issue of opposition from some of the BJP MLAs on carving out a new district, Vijayanagara from the Ballari district, he asserted that 'Government will take into confidence with all the concerned before taking a final decision'. 'I will speak to all the BJP MLAs, from the Ballari district, including Somashekhara Reddy, Karunakara Reddy', he added.(UNI)
