Bengaluru, Aug 20: As many as seven BJP Legislators belonging to Lingayat community have grabbed major share in the Karnataka Cabinet which was expanded by Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa here on Tuesday. Four MLAs belonging to SC/ST community were inducted and it was followed by 3 Legislators belonging to Vokkaliga, two Backward Class, One Brahmin community. The luckiest MLA was H Nagesh, who made his maiden entry into the Legislative Assembly by winning the election for the first time from Mulbagalu.
He was also included as Cabinet Minister in the Congress-JDS Coalition government at the fag end before down fall of the Kumaraswamy government. With today’s expansion the size of the Cabinet headed by Chief Minister Yediyurappa rose to 18. As the matter about disqualification of 17 rebel MLAs are pending before the Supreme Court, the Chief Minister has not filled the Cabinet to its maximum number allowed as per constitution.UNI
