Bengaluru, Aug 15 : The announcement of the Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa, naming a village after donor’s name in the flood affected region, received wrath from the JD(S) party here on Thursday.
In a twitter message, the JD(S) had sharply criticised Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa, for his decision on renaming a village after a donor’s name, who will come forward with a donation of Rs 10 crore or more.
Stating that the name of every village carry forward its own culture, tradition and history and it should not be altered, the JD(S) had said that “Villagers have lost everything in the flood-fury and you don’t do anything to lose their village’s name also”. The JD(S) had compared CM’s decision to Tughalaq rule. (UNI)
