Yadgir, Karnataka, Jul 29 : Following increase in the inflow into Narayanpur Basava Sagar reservoir across River Krishna an alert has been sounded in areas along the banks of the Krishna river in Yadgir district.
According to the Krishna Bhagya Jala Nigam Ltd (KBJNL) source the huge quantum of water being released from Narayanpur reservoir in Surpur taluk, Yadgir district administration sounded a alert along the banks of the Krishna on Sunday and warned the villagers not to venture into the river for fishing or any reasons.
The Sources said that the outflow from Narayanapur dam will touch about one lakh cusecs by Sunday midnight. Consequently, a flood warning has been issued, alerting people living in villages near the river bank.
In the morning, the inflow into Almatti was 76303 cusecs, while the outflow was 91942 cusecs down to Narayanpur. Almatti, in fact, had almost filled up, with water level reaching 519.270 mt as against the Full Reservoir Level of 519.60 mt.
At Narayanpur, the discharge was only 8,871 cusecs though the inflow was 27,806 cusecs. Water level was 1,611 ft as against FRL of 1,615 ft., the source added . (UNI)
