BJP Karnataka State Chief and former Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa has met Governor Vajubhai Vala on Friday.
Yeddyurappa said that he will request for swearing-in as Chief Minister on Friday itself. It is learnt that BS Yeddyurappa’s move is after the BJP leaders’ meeting with Union Minister and BJP leader Amit Shah in Delhi on Thursday.
Karnataka Speaker Ramesh Kumar on Thursday had disqualified three rebel MLAs, viz. Congress MLAs Ramesh L Jarkiholi and Mahesh Kumathahalli and Karnataka Prajakiya Janata Party legislator R Shankar. Some highly placed sources said that Yeddyurappa might have got green signal from the centre to make the move.
Outgoing former Chief Minister Kumaraswamy said on Thursday that it would be difficult to form a stable government in Karnataka. Kumaraswamy stepped down as Chief Minister after the JD(S)-Congress government lost its majority in a recently held trust vote in Karnataka.
