BJP Karnataka chief awaiting advice from Central leadership for his next move

Bengaluru, Jul 24: BJP Karnataka President B S Yeddyurappa today said that he is awaiting advice from Central leadership to make next move after the JD(S)-Congress Coalition government fell after losing the Trust Vote on the floor of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly yesterday.Speaking to reporters before meeting senior RSS leaders at ‘Keshava Shilpa’ the RSS headquarters in Karnataka here on Wednesday, he said he had come to discuss issues with the RSS leaders and his next move on meeting the Governor or staking claim to form the BJP government in the State will depend on instructions by the BJP central leaders.

The coalition government headed by H D Kumaraswamy was ousted yesterday after the Confidence motion moved by the Chief Minister was defeated after coalition government got 99 votes against 105 voted against the motion.In all 205 members present cast their votes during the trust vote against the house strength of 225, which include a nominated member. The 20 absentees included 14 from the Congress, 3 from JD(S), 1 BSP and two independents who had extended their support to the BJP.
Yeddyurappa indicated that the BJP legislature party meeting will be held only after instructions received from the party central leadership.

Sources in the BJP said that the central leadership had asked Yeddyurappa not to come to New Delhi immediately until there was a final decision on formation of the next government.Meanwhile, reports reaching here said that the 15 dissident MLAs, whose resignation is yet to be accepted by the Assembly Speaker, have decided not to return to Bengaluru until there was clarity over the formation of the next government. Currently they are staying in Mumbai and Pune.

Independent Lok Sabha member and film actor turned politician Sumalatha Ambareesh, who won from JD(S) stronghold of Mandya with the support of the BJP, congratulated Yeddyurappa over the fall of the coalition government in her Facebook post. ‘’I congratulate the future Chief Minister Yeddyurappa’’.
