With Speaker KR Ramesh Kumar set 6pm as the deadline for starting trust vote in the assembly, the fate of HD Kumaraswamy-led Congress-JD(S) government is hanging in the balance.
Speaker has rejected the request from Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy to extend the trust vote debate on Monday afternoon. As the speaker set the 4pm as the deadline for the discussion on trust vote motion, the lawmakers from the ruling dispensation show the face of frustration indicating an imminent 'no confidence vote' on the floor.
The words from Congress leaders today shows harsher indicating the imminent defeat of the ruling dispensation. Congress minister and trouble shooter DK Shivakumar in his trust vote debate today advices Yeddyurappa that these rebel MLAs will backstab BJP too. “They all backstab me,” an emotional Shivakumar said.
Right now, Kumaraswamy has very few options in front of him. Either resigns before the trust vote begins or else resigns after the trust vote as JD(S)-Congress combine has already become minority in the Karnataka assembly. While BJP enjoys the support of 107 MLAs including the two independents, Congress-JD(S) combine has only 102 MLA with them.
