Remembering about the imminent ‘no confidence vote’ to do held by 6pm today, Karnataka Speaker KR Ramesh Kumar warned the lawmakers to conclude their trust vote debate by 4pm.
Speaker has repeated that the trust vote will be conducted on Monday by 6pm. Earlier the Speaker has made it clear that if the rebel MLAs did not attend the floor test, it will be considered as absence. It is learnt that the speaker did not relent to the request from Chief Minister Kumaraswamy to extend the trust vote debate further.
Earlier, Congress Legislature Party leader Siddharamaiah has issued whip to the Rebel MLAs. Earlier, Legislative Assembly Speaker K.R. Ramesh Kumar on Monday gave a ruling that a legislature party leader has the right to issue whip.
If whip is applied, it would mean that the rebel MLAs can be disqualified for not attending the session, despite the Supreme Court order. And if they are disqualified, they cannot become ministers until they win another election. Ministry posts are believed to be among the promises made by the BJP to allegedly make these MLAs defect.
