Karnataka crisis: confidence vote on July 22

Agency News

Though the Speaker Ramesh Kumar adjourned the assembly on Friday, it is learnt that most probably the trust vote will take place on Monday, July 22 in the Karnataka Assembly.

Before the adjournment of the assembly, the Speaker had extracted an assurance from the Chief Minister and Congress Legislature Party leader Siddaramaiah that the trust vote would not be postponed beyond Monday, highly placed sources said.

Speaker adjourned the house ignoring the Governor’s second direction to conduct trust vote on Friday itself. While sending the second direction, the Governor not only inform that to Chief Minister but also to the speaker.

If governor did not go to any extreme steps, the trust vote will most probably take place on Monday. Earlier, Congress Legislative Party leader Siddharamaiah also said that the trust vote will happen on Monday.
