Karnataka Assembly proceedings begin

Agency News

The proceedings of the Karnataka Assembly have begun at 11 Am on Friday with the address of the Speaker Ramesh Kumar. Speaker, who looked calm, said that he is not partial to the Congress-JD(S) government, but will take some time to make impartial decision. KR Ramesh Kumar also said that he is independent and cannot be directed by the Governor either.

As soon as the assembly proceedings begin, BJP tries to move a privilege motion, but Speaker rejected BJP’s request. “I am not moving privilege motion, but I will take fair decision based on facts,”said the Speaker. Soon, he allowed Congress Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy to speak. Kumaraswamy mentioned about the point of order raised by Siddaramaiah on Thursday.

It looks as if Speaker is not under pressure and he is not planning to yield to Governor’s pressure of conducting floor test by 1.30 pm on Friday.
