Bengaluru, Jul 9 : The Coalition partner in the Congress-JDS government in Karnataka suffers yet another jolt as former Minister and senior Congress leader submitted his resignation to the Assembly today.
Baig, who had blamed party senior leaders including CLP leader Siddaramaiah for the party's debacle in the Lok Sabha election, met the Speaker Ramesh Kumar personally and submitted his resignation.
With this the number of Congress MLAs who have tendered their resignation has risen to 11, excluding three from the JDS and the 13-month-old coalition government was reduced to a minority. The independent MLAs, who were recently made Cabinet Ministers, have also decided to withdraw their support to the coalition government. (UNI)
