JDS MLAs to meet at noon in Bengaluru, more resignations imminent in Congress

In a last-minute attempt to salvage the JD(S)-Congress government, a meeting of JDS MLAs has been convened at noon on Monday in Bengaluru. Meanwhile, an emergency meeting convened by Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy late on Sunday night concluded without any favourable outcome.

Giving a slap to the coalition government, Independent MLA Nagesh, who was inducted into the ministry in June this year, has withdrawn his support to the Congress-JD(S) government. Congress MP from Karnataka DK Suresh accused that the BJP is behind the MLA's resignation. “I've heard about Nagesh only from media I don't know about it," DK Suresh said.

According to sources, the coalition leaders agreed to offer ministerial berths to former JD (S) state chief H Vishwanath and MLA Gopalaiah, and board chairman post to MLA Narayan Gowda, but they remained adamant. In the late night meeting, most MLAs blamed Tourism Minister Sa Ra Mahesh for Vishwanath’s resignation, sources said.

Former Deputy CM and BJP leader R Ashok terms G Parmeshwara's allegations against Governor office being misused as wrong. " It is Congress culture. We saw what happened when some people went to resign and what Kumaraswamy-appointed Police Commissioner did."
