Sumalatha asks Minister Thamanna to resign

Bengaluru, June 8 : Taking a potshot against Karnataka Minister for Transport D C Thamanna, who is also Mandya Incharge Minister, Mandya Lok Sabha member Sumalatha Ambareesh, today sought his resignation for castigating villagers for not voting to the JD(S) candidate Nikhil Kumaraswamy son of Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy in the Lok Sabha election.Speaking to newsmen here on Saturday, she expressed anguish over Thamanna who had allegedly reprimanded the villagers for not supporting the JD(S) candidate.

The incident occurred at a foundation laying ceremony in Maddur, in which some villagers had appealed the Minister to take some road works as well as concreting the roads in their colony. "The Minister is practicing vindictive politics in Mandya district" She charged. (UNI)
