Bengaluru, May 22: Taking strong exception to the outburst by former Minister and Senior Congress leader Roshan Baig against the KPCC President, CLP leaer Siddaramaiah and AICC incharge for Party affairs in Karnataka K C Venugopal, the KPCC Secretary B Y Ghorpade today issued show cause notice to Baig.
Baig, who is one of the senior Muslim leaders, earlier in the day, stated that thanks to the arrogant attitude of the CLP leader Siddaramaiah, the Congress in Karnataka is in hopeless conditions. He had also described the KPCC President Dinesh Gundu Rao as an ‘Immature’ and the AICC General Secretary K C Venugopal who is also Party-in-charge for Karnataka as a ‘Bufoon”.
The KPCC had given a seven days time to Baig to reply before initiating disciplinary action against him. Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister Dr G Parameshwara, had also criticized Baig for making reckless remarks on the party leaders.
“One should not bite the hand which had fed like mother”, he said.Minister for Civil Supplies Zameer Ahmed Khan also condemned Baig for hitting out against the party leaders. “Baig, who had been Minister five times, had no grouse against the party leaders and now just because he was not made Minister he started barking”, he added.
However, Baig received pat from the coalition partner JDS State President A H Vishwanath. “Baig had made a bold and truthful statement on Siddaramaiah. I compliment Baig for coming out with truth.” UNI
