Kalaburagi, May 17: Senior Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge today appealed to all the State Congress and JD (S) leaders not to elaborate Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy's statement that he (Kharge) should have become Chief Minister long back.
"It was a casual statement made by Kumaraswamy. It should not be elaborated as it may affect the ruling Coalition government in the State," he added. Addressing a press conference here on Friday, Kharge declined to comment on Coalition Government Coordination Committee Chairman Siddaramaiah's tweet on the subject and terming that former Prime Minister H D Devegowda's son and Minister H D Revanna is also eligible for Chief Minister post.
"I am not reacting to Siddaramaiah's tweet. Kumarswamy has causally stated that I am most eligible for the post but elaborating such statements may damage the Congress image and it may have adverse impact on coalition government," he added. (UNI)
