Bengaluru, May 15: As a precautionary measure, the Karnataka Government proposes to invite tender for cloud seeding in the State during monsoon for the next three years, Rural Development and Panchayath Raj Minister Krishna Byregowda, said today.
Gowda told mediapersons that Rs 88 crore would be earmarked for this. “The cloud seeding will be undertaken during onset of the Monsoon season expected in June this year.
“The State was forced to go for cloud seeding due to consecutive three year of drought condition prevailed in the State," he said.
Two flights will carry on cloud seeding operations simultaneously from Bengaluru and Hubballi. The flights will carry out , the operations wherever possible in the state”.(UNI)
