Bengaluru, Mar 28 : Strongly denying that the IT raids conducted in multiple locations in Karnataka today were politically motivated, the BJP's National General Secretary and party incharge for Karnataka, Muralidhar Rao termed it as a 'routine exercise' of the Income Tax department and it should not termed as politically motivated.
Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, he charged that the Opposition Congress and the JD(S) leaders are trying to politicise the IT raids which happened in Karnataka, succumbing to frustration. "Attributing the IT raids as political motive is a frivolous one", he added.
Stating that raids were conducted on the premises of BJP leaders also in Karnataka, he said that "IT officials conducted raids on the relatives of our leader S M Krishna and also on BJP MP G S Siddeshwar in Davanagere. The Congress and JD(S) leaders had remained silent when IT raids happened on BJP leaders". (UNI)
