Karnataka Minister Shivalli passes away

Bengaluru, March 22: Minister for Municipal Administration C.S. Shivalli passed away following a massive heart attack on Friday. He was 58.

While speaking speaking to some people in Dharwad he suddenly fell down and soon was rushed to a private hospital in Hubballi. He breathed his last in the hospital.

For the past three days, he was at the Dharwad building collapse site, where 15 people have already been killed, monitoring the rescue operation. Lack of rest might have affected the health of Mr. Shivalli who had undergone a heart surgery earlier.

Channabasappa Satyappa Shivalli was a three-time MLA from Kundagol constituency in Dharwad district. He won his first election as an independent candidate in 1999.

Mr. Shivalli joined the Congress and subsequently lost in the 2008 elections. He won again in 2013 and 2018 as the party candidate. He was given a Cabinet berth in the latest reshuffle. (UNI)
