Mysuru, Feb 25 : The City Elected Representatives’ Special Court has issued a non-bailable warrant against Mysuru-Kodagu BJP Member of Parliament Pratap Simha over his twitter message against actor turned politician Prakash Raj.
The warrant has been issued in a case pertaining to a post on Twitter the MP shared, insulting the actor-turned-politician Prakash Raj. Prakash Raj had filed a defamation suit against the MP’s post in February 2018 and despite several summonses for the hearing, the MP failed to appear before the court.
Judge B V Patil issued the non-bailable warrant and has posted the case on March 19 for the next hearing. Meanwhile, speaking to media here on Monday, Mr Simha tried to play down the whole issue. The outspoken BJP MP and the multilingual actor are at loggerheads ever since the latter started talking against Prime Minister Narendra Modi at various platforms.
Mr Simha, a former journalist, is gunning to get BJP nomination for the second time from the same segment. (UNI)
