Cong MLA Umesh Jadhav rejects the allegation of taken Rs 50 Cr bribe for joining BJP

Kalaburagi, Feb 17 : Disgruntled Congress Legislator Umesh Jadhav, from Chincholi, offered to commit suicide if the allegation that he had taken Rs 50 Crore bribe to join Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Addressing a Press Conference at Wadi, about 40 km from here on Sunday, Mr Jadhav said " if they prove their allegation, I will commit suicide publicly".

Strongly refuting allegations that he is joining BJP in return to Rs 50 Crore in cash and a ticket for the Lok Sabha election, he insisted that he was not interested in making money.

Mr Jadhav said “I have brought the problems of my constituency to the notice of my party leaders many a times , but have been disappointed with their response. no development works has taken place in my constituency, so i am disappointed."

However, Mr Jadhav, a two-time MLA has claimed that he has not quit the Congress, sources in the party confirmed that he has almost decided to quit the party by next month. He is tipped to be the BJP candidate from Kalaburagi (Reserved) Lok Sabha segment against Congress leader M Mallikarjun Kharge, who has never lost an election so far. Mr Kharge has won nine Assembly and two Lok Sabha elections till now. (UNI)
