Kalaburagi, Karnataka, Feb 4 : Karnataka Minister for PWD H D Revanna on Monday expressed confidence in Chief Minister H D Kumarswamay, who also holds Finance portfolio, will be presenting the Annual State Budget for 2019-20 as scheduled on Feb 8 and it would be a pro-farmer one.
Addressing a press conference here, Mr Revanna disclosed that Kumarswamy will be announcing income support to farmers and a number of new scheme which benefits farmers, labour and Backward Class.
Mr Revanna come down heavily on Opposition leader in the Legislative Assembly B S Yeddyurappa, who is also BJP State President for allegedly continuing the efforts to destabilise the Congress-JDS coalition government neglecting the State welfare.
The Minister alleged that the Union Government is showing step motherly attitude towards Karnataka by sanctioning only Rs 943 Crore for drought relief works against the State's demand for Rs 2,434 crores, while Maharashtra State was sanctioned Rs 4,714 .28 crores. The State BJP leaders are not protesting against this sort of treatment by the Centre but has indulged in destabilising the smoothly running government.(UNI)
