Mysuru, Jan 28 : A 39-year-old person, who came out of his house on Monday morning was attacked and killed by a wild tiger at Gundre tribal village in H D Kote taluk of the district in Karnataka.
Forest officials said the victim had been identified as Chinnappa. The incident occurred during early morning today when the victim and other two persons came out of their homes and set up a fire to beat the cold when suddenly the tiger attacked them. It dragged the victim than 200 meters but later sped after the other two shouted for help.
Police and forest officials rushed to the spot. A search operation was launched to locate the tiger.
In the meantime the villagers staged protest following the incident and asked the forest officials for protection. The victim’s body has been taken for postmortem.
Recently another person was killed by a tiger in this region. (UNI)
