Bengaluru, Jan 16 : Amidst the crisis being faced by the JD(S)-Congress coalition government in the state after opposition making fervent moves to destabilise it, the former Chief minister, Siddaramaiah, has convened the meeting of the Congress Legislative Party (CLP) here on Friday.
According to Congress sources, the meeting has been convened to send a strong message that all the party MLAs were with the party and there will be no threat for the stability of the Coalition government.
According to party sources, the decision to convene a meeting of the CLP was taken after a meeting of the senior leaders including the AICC general secretary, K C Venugopal, KPCC president, Dinesh Gundu Rao, Water Resources minister D K Shivakumar, and others here during the last two days.
By convening the CLP meeting all the rumors over some Congress MLAs trying to desert the party, will be put to an end, a senior party leader said. (UNI)
