Raichur, Karnataka, Dec 4 :Taking part in the Ayodhya issue, former Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister and senior BJP leader K S Eshwarappa on Tuesday said that the BJP will construct Ram Mandir at Ayodhya as promised before coming to power in 2014.
Speaking to newsmen here on Tuesday, he said that "we had promised to build Ram Mandir in Ayodhya and working towards fulfilling the promise. There was Masque built by Babar and hence was called 'Babri Masjid', it is sign of slave."
He alleged that the Congress lost power in 22 State mainly due to opposing construction of Ram Mandir. Now Congress has realised its mistake and supporting construction.
Mr Eshwarappa alleged that the Congress-JDS Coalition government in the State is yet to start functioning. Farmers problems are yet to be taken care of, the much publicised crop loan waiver has still remained on paper, people in 100 drought hit taluks are suffering as this government headed by Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy has failed to come to their rescue and solve problems including supply of drinking water.
Defending BJP's move to admit Legislators of Congress and JDS, Mr Eshwarappa said that "our doors are always open even if Mr Siddaramaiah or Ms Sonia Gandhi want to join BJP we welcome them. Congress Legislator Satish Jarkiholi himself has stated that there are 8 disgruntled MLAs in the party if KPCC President Dinesh Gundu Rao want to take displinary action against Jarkiholi let him take. BJP is growing while Congress is perishing."
He said that BJP will fight the Lok Sabha election due next year under the leadership of former Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa, who is also the State President. (UNI)
