Bengaluru, Nov 10 : Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy today greeted the people of the state on the occasion of birth anniversary of warrior King Tipu Sultan which is being celebrated as government sponsored celebrations on Saturday.
In a message he said, ‘’ The Government is observing birth anniversary of Hazjarath Tipu Sultan today all over the State. Tippu Sultan's progressive measures in administration, his quest for innovation are commendable’’.
The Chief Minister also said in a statement issued here today that he was taking rest on Doctor's advice he is unable to take part in the program.
‘’It is unnecessary to add special meaning to it. It is also far from truth that he isn't taking part due to the fear of losing power, as he opposes such blind beliefs,’’ he added.
The coalition government in Karnataka is observing Tipu Jayanti despite severe protests from BJP and other right-wing organisations. Similar celebrations had resulted in violent incidents in Kodagu in 2015 resulting in two deaths.
Kumaraswamy is away from Bengaluru along with his family and expected to return to the state capital on November 12. UNI
