For JDS, the victory in Mandya is ever-memorable.
After the final round of counting in Mandya on Tuesday, JD(S) candidate LR Shivarame Gowda has secured 5,53,374 votes while Siddaramaiah of the BJP has got 2,44,377 votes. A majority of more than 3 lakh votes is considered as a record. This victory is hailed by JDS and Congress leaders as a victory of coalition politics against BJP.
Mandya is a constituency where farmers hold a major say. The brutal majority of JDS’ Shivarame Gowda against BJP’s Dr. Siddahramaiah is said to be a victory against Modi government’s anti-farmers policy.
