Bengaluru, Oct 13: Karnataka Anti Naxal Force (ANF) has intensified combing operations in the Western Ghat forest areas coming under Chikamagaluru district in search of Naxalites of banned CPI(Maoist) group who had allegedly visited a house in the Coffee town last week.
The team, which has registered an FIR against 8 suspected Naxalites following a complaint by Vasudeva, a resident of Gulya Village in Chikamagaluru forest area, have intensified the operation in Kudremukh and surrounding areas.
Vasudeva has in his complaint had reported that a group of alleged Naxalites led by known members of the banned group -- Mundagaru Lata and Vikrama Gowda visited his house last month.
According to Chikamagaluru Superintendent of Police K Annamalai, Vasudeva has been subjected to questioning and more details are being collected. Meanwhile, combing operation is going on, he said. (UNI)
