Bengaluru, Oct 4: Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation (KSTDC) and the Department of Tourism will launch special aircraft from the State Capital to the City of Palaces to enable Tourists arriving from India and abroad to witness the world famous Dasara festivities comfortably.
The special flight service will be from Oct 10 19 and will take off from Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) here, according to a release here on Thursday.
In this regard an MoU has been signed between KSTDC and Alliance Air, a subsidiary of Air India. The flight, which is a 72 seater ATR aircraft of Alliance Air, shall be operated everyday, at 02:10 pm from Bangalore to Mysore and back from Mysore to Bangalore at 03:30 pm.
Last two years, the Department of Tourism had operated the 7 seater cessana aircraft, branded as Aakash ambari, which used to operate from HAL airport. The 72 seater Alliance Air shall be more useful to the tourists as it operates from the regular KIAL airport and shall also work as connecting flight for all the tourists landing at Bengaluru from other places. Besides it would be extremely helpful for the Bangaloreans too as they can avoid the highly crowded Bangalore Mysore Highway.
Minister for Tourism Sa Ra Mahesh, who spearheaded this initiative, said that we need to promote our culture and traditions and showcase our famous State festivals to tourists and guests from all over the world. We may think of continuing the operation of this flight if we get a good response from tourists. (UNI)
