More than 3500 migrants have returned to Ramgarh says DC, 969 kept in facility quarantine

Ramgarh, May 24 : Ramgarh DC Sandeep Singh said that the district administration was fully geared up to take on the battle against Coronavirus and if the people extend their cooperation the fight would be further intensified.

Addressing a press conference here he said so far 3,552 migrant workers have come back to the district out of which 969 have been placed in facility quarantine while 2583 were in home quarantine. He said a total of 15 Shramik Special trains reached the Barkakana junction from different parts of the country in which 22,815 people came back, but only 812 people came to Ramgarh.

Singh said so far samples of 1,994 people have been collected, out of which 1,388 was negative while six were positive. He said that the result of another 600 samples was pending. The DC said that people who would come out of their homes without masks, wouldn't be given ration or petrol and if any shopkeeper sells them goods, their shops will be closed till the lockdown ends. He said that people without helmets and masks will not be given petrol at the petrol pumps.

He asked the people of the Muslim community not to take part in religious gatherings and to offer prayers from their homes on Eid, celebrated on Monday. Ramgarh SP Prabhat Kumar who was also present in the press conference said flag March would be taken out in Ramgarh and Chitarpur and warned of strict action against people spreading any wrong information.
