Dumka, May 21 : The Dumka district administration has added yet another feather to its cap as it has managed to achieve hundred per cent food grains distribution in the two months of the lockdown. Dumka DC Rajeshwari B said that during the two months of the lockdown whatever foodgrains was allocated by the Food and Civil Supplies department for the various schemes not only their off take was ensured but they were also distributed among the beneficiaries.
She said that the administration has distributed rice, wheat, pulses, sugar, salt and kerosene oil among the beneficiaries. She said that after complaints of irregularities were received from one or two places firs were registered against two PDS dealers while two others were suspended and show cause notice was given to 18 such dealers. She said that the offtake of the food grains for the month of June would commence from May 26-27 itself and the foodgrains distribution would commence in first week of June. The district administration distributed 42,816 quintals of foodgrains among 198075 beneficiaries in April while in May 45,272 quintals of foodgrains was distributed among 198139 beneficiaries. (UNI)
