Ranchi, May 8 : Four Shramik Special Trains brought more than 4,800 people including patients and their family members who had gone for treatment along with workers from Western and Southern states of the country back to Jharkhand.
A train from Vellore of Tamil Nadu brought back 1,200 people including patients, their family members and workers at Hatia railway station, while another train from Mourvi of Gujarat brought 1,187 workers at Tatanagar railway junction in Jamshedpur. Another Shramik Special train from Surat brought in 1,208 workers to Jasidih Junction of Deoghar district while from Lingampally of Telangana another 1,250 workers came back at Dhanbad junction.
Overall during the day, a total of 4,845 people reached back to their home state. As part of standard procedure adopted by the government at all the railway stations falling under the jurisdiction of different district administrations, buses had been arranged to ferry the passengers to their home district. However before the people were made to board the buses medical screening of the workers was done and they were asked to remain in home quarantine for a period of 14 days, they were also welcomed with masks and sanitizers and given food packets for their onward journey.
Upon reaching their respective districts once again the necessary medical screening of the people would be done after which they would be placed into home quarantine or facility quarantine as per the requirements. The senior officials of the district administrations of Ranchi, Dhanbad, Jamshedpur and Deoghar were themselves present on the spot to oversee the entire process. (UNI)
