Ranchi, Apr 12: Jharkhand today reported its second Coronavirus death as a man died at Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences here. The man was 56 year old and hailed from Hindpiri area of the capital.
He was the husband of the woman who was second person to have tested positive for Coronavirus in the state capital. RIMS Director Dr DK Singh has confirmed the death. The doctor said that his condition had turned serious as he had breathing difficulties. He was kept on ventilator since Thursday night.
Hindpiri has emerged to be the biggest hotspot in the state for Coronavirus as 8 confirmed cases have been reported from the area. Out of the 8 people who had tested positive for Coronavirus 6 of them are from one family. The state had reported its first Coronavirus death on April 9 as a 70 year old man hailing from Saram of Gomia block died at the Bokaro General Hospital.
The total number of confirmed Coronavirus cases in the state stood at 17. District wise Ranchi has 8 confirmed Coronavirus cases, Bokaro 6, Hazaribagh 2 and Koderma 1. The state had reported its first positive Coronavirus case on March 31 when a Malaysian woman had tested positive for Coronavirus. One April 2 a man hailing from Hazaribagh who had returned from Asansol had tested positive for Coronavirus.
On April 5 a woman who had returned from Bangladesh hailing from Telo village of Chandrapura block of Bokaro had tested positive while on April 6 a woman from Hindpiri had tested positive for Coronavirus. On April 9, a total of 9 people had tested positive in the state including 5 in Ranchi and 4 in Bokaro. On April 10 another man had tested positive for Coronavirus in Bokaro. On April 11 one patient each had tested positive for the disease in Ranchi, Hazaribagh and Koderma. (UNI)
