Ranchi has 7 confirm Coronavirus patients, 'Hotbed' Hindpiri further sealed for next 72 hrs

Ranchi, Apr 9: The state capital has a total of 7 confirmed cases of Covid 19 following which the district administration has decided to further extend the sealing of the 'Hotbed' of Hindpiri by next 72 hours.

Addressing a Press Conference here today Ranchi DC Rai Mahimpet Rey said that out of 7 confirmed cases of Coronavirus 6 are from one particular family. He said all of them have been shifted to Covid-19 Hospital located in RIMS.

Rey said that contact tracing of the newly confirmed patients has been done and now the process of sampling was on. The DC said that the people needed to understand that more the sampling is done the more it would be better for their own interests.

He urged the people of Ranchi that if they have symptoms of Coronavirus than they should come forward and help the administration do their sampling and if needed collection of Swab. Ranchi SSP Anish Gupta said complete lockdown of Hindpiri area had been done and Police have put up barricading across all the roads leading to Hindpiri.

He said that police patrolling vehicles are round the clock moving in the area. Gupta said that people have been asked to remain in their homes and all the essential items related to their food and medicines will be provided at their doors by a select group of volunteers.

The SSP further said that the district administration has deployed 4 drones to keep an eye on the activities of the people in the area. (UNI)
