Ranchi, Mar 19 : During the ongoing budget session of the Jharkhand Assembly the legislators of the BJP protested inside and outside the house over a hunger death which had taken place in Kasmar block of Bokaro district. MLAs protested outside the assembly with posters demanding a compensation of Rs 10 lakh for the kin of the deceased Bhukal Ghasi along with a job.
As soon as the house assembled for the day BJP MLA Bhanu Pratap Sahi raised the issue of hunger death of Bhukal Ghasi who hailed from a dalit family. Soon the MLAs of the BJP came into the well of the house with posters and indulged in slogan shouting demanding the reply of the government over the issue. Speaker Ravindranath Mahto urged the MLAs to return back to their seats and allow the question hour to function.
He also rejected couple of work adjournment motions including one which was jointly moved by Jai Prakash Bhai Patel Biranchi Narayan Inderjit Mahto and Lambodar Mahto demanding inclusion of Kurmis into ST while another work adjournment motion was moved by Amar Bauri over hunger death. Chandankiyari MLA Amar Bauri said also pointed that a video has also gone viral in which the family members are being asked to say that when any one should ask they should tell that the man had died of some other reason rather than hunger death. He asked the government to take cognisance of such matters and help the family. (UNI)
