Boiler falls at NTPC's North Karanpura Plant, killing 2

Chatra, Feb 6 : A couple of workers were today killed while three others were seriously injured as a boiler fell at the North Karanpura Mega Power Plant of the NTPC located in Tandwa block of this district. Workers said that the incident took place when the channel guard was being put across the boiler number two of the power plant.

They said that as the hook of the crane broke down the heavy boiler fell on the workers. While two of them died on the spot other three were seriously injured. The deceased have been identified as Arjun Kumar Yadav of Palamu district and Babulal Chowdhary of Garhwa district.

The injured included Dipak Kumar and Surendra Chowdhary from Hazaribagh and Ramanuj Ravi from Palamu. The seriously injured after being administered first aid have been sent to Medanta Hospital Ranchi. (UNI)
