Ranchi, Jan 17 : Ending days of speculation former chief minister and JVM-P supremo Babulal Marandi returned to the state capital where he immediately got in touch with his close supporters and workers to work out on the path of merger of his party with the BJP.
Mr Marandi when probed on what was in the pipeline for the party, he said that he would not like to comment on the issue at the present moment. When asked about the stance of his two other MLAs Pradeep Yadav and Bandhu Tirkey over the merger, he said talks would be held with them and then any future decision will be taken.
He said, BJP wants the merger and so do other parties however this was not a news of sensation and when things would be finalised then all would be informed. Sources familiar with the development within the party said that Marandi can now form the new working committee apart from that efforts are also on to get Pradeep Yadav and Bandhu Tirkey on board. Party sources claimed that among the two Pradeep Yadav might give in and join the BJP provided he is given an important post in the party however it is unlikely that Bandhu will join the BJP. As part of future course of action Marandi will now form the new working committee of the party and will take its approval for merger with the BJP. Attempts would also be made to bring Pradeep Yadav and Bandhu on board and at the end the party will withdraw its support given to Hemant Soren government which will have no impact on the health of the new government.
