Agency News

Ranchi, Jan 8 : The last day of the inaugural session of the fifth Jharkhand Assembly was high on drama as during the course of discussion on the Governor's speech Congress MLA Irfan Ansari accused the BJP and the RSS of being involved in the mob lynching of Tabrez Ansari which led to strong protest by the opposition MLAs who stormed into the well demanding sacking of the MLA.

Irfan said that the previous government of chief minister Raghubar Das had made many allegations against Hemant Soren in media and now the Hemant Government will order a probe into all the departments which were held by Das and those who would be found guilty will be sent to jail.

He said had the Congress and the JMM not been in the opposition the previous government by making amendments in the CNT and SPT Acts would have looted the land of the people.

He further said that the previous government in the name of Kamal Clubs had made discrimination against the tribal youths and no Kamal Club would be allowed under Hemant Soren's rule. Irfan said that the government will also take action against the killers of Tabrez Ansari as he was not a murderer or terrorist and accused the workers of the BJP and RSS of being involved in his killing.

However, as soon as Irfan used the names of BJP and RSS all the MLAs of the BJP stormed into the well of the house and demanded that the speaker should sack Irfan Ansari.

They also indulged in slogan shouting against him. Senior BJP MLA from Ranchi CP Singh sought proof from Irfan regarding those who have killed Tabrez Ansari. On this the Congress MLA said that he had proof with him over the issue.

There was continuous uproar in the assembly as the MLAs of the BJP persisted with their demand that the MLA should be removed from the proceedings of the house and he should also seek apology. The speaker trying to restore order to the house directed to remove the objectionable words from the proceedings.

'' However, I leave on the wisdom of the legislator whether he should apologize or not.'' On this Irfan said that he will never seek an apology for his comments after which the BJP MLAs once again stormed into the well of the house and indulged in slogan shouting due to which the speaker was forced to adjourn the house at 1205hrs to 1220hrs.
