Ranchi, Jan 2 : On the second day of the new year, the entire state including the state capital of Ranchi remained under the grip of cold waves and cloud cover which lead to uninterrupted rainfall in the late afternoon throwing the life out of gear in the state.
Due to the rainfall less than usual traffic was visible on the roads as the people preferred to remain in the comfort of their homes rather than coming out and shiver in the cold and chilly weather conditions. Realising the gravity of the situation, the district administration in Ranchi has ordered the closures of all the schools till January 7.
Reports from other districts also said that in many areas non stop drizzle has been reported which has increased the chill in the air. In the last 24 hours, many districts of the state have recorded light to medium range of rainfall. The local weather department in its report has said that the weather will remain similar till January 4 during which many places will also record hailstorm with lightning and thundering. (UNI)
