Jamshedpur, Nov 17 : Raising a voice of revolt within BJP camp, Food and Civil Supplies Minister and BJP leader Saryu Rai has said that he would contest against BJP Chief Minister of Jharkhand, Raghubar Das, if he was not given ticket to contest in assembly elections.
In the fourth list of candidates for the Assembly elections, the name of Saryu Rai has been dropped by the BJP. Sharpening his attack against State BJP leaders, state Food and Supply Minister Saryu Rai announced that he would be contesting as an independent candidate against BJP Chief Minister Raghubar Das.
Mr Rai said, apart from contesting against Chief Minister Raghubar Das from Jamshedpur East, he will also be contesting from Jamshedpur West. Mr Rai said that he will be devoting his time in Jamshedpur East, while the party workers will be fighting it out in Jamshedpur West.
The minister had yesterday itself given ample hint that if he was denied ticket by the BJP he would be be keeping all options open including contesting against Raghubar Das. (UNI)
