Garhwa, Aug 12 : Bodies of four members of a family, including a husband and wife and their two daughters, was today recovered from Raksi village under Dhurki Police Station area of this district. The deceased have been identified as Shiv Kumar Baitha, his wife Babita Devi, Tanya (10) and Shreya (6).
Villagers said Babita and her two daughters were ill for the last several days and moreover the economic condition of the family was not very good due to which Shiv Kumar could not get proper treatment of his family members to do. The villagers suspected that driven by the financial crisis the family was forced to commit mass suicide.
A police team which later arrived at the spot said that body of Shiv was found hanging from a tree near his home while the body of Babita and Shreya was found from a well adjacent to their home and that of elder daughter Tanya was found inside the home. Police later sent all the bodies for postmortem to Sadar Hospital. Police too suspect the incident of being suicide by the family but were probing the case from all possible angles.UNI
