Ranchi, Jul 8 : The Jharkhand High Court today asked the state government to file a detailed report over the Saraikela mob lynching incident.
Apart from that the High Court has also sought information from the state government over the vandalism which took place on July 5 at Rajendra Chowk of the state capital by people who were demonstrating against the mob lynching incident.
The bench of Justice HC Mishra and Deepak Roshan has directed the state government to give its reply over the incident in a week and has fixed July 15 as the next date of hearing. A man identified as Pankaj Yadav had filed a PIL in this case in the High Court. On June 17, Tabrez Ansari of Kadamdiha was badly beaten by a crowd in Dhatkidih village under Kharsawan Police Station area of Saraikela-Kharsawan district as the villagers suspected him of being a bike thief. Later the man was handed over to the police.
The Kharsawan Police instead of providing proper treatment to the accused sent him to jail but as his condition declined he was brought to the hospital few days later were he died due to his wound injuries. (UNI)
