Ranchi, May 19: An estimated 52.89 per cent voters exercised their franchise in the three Lok Sabha seats of the Santhal Pargana division till 1pm in the last phase of General Elections, 2019.
Constituency wise Rajmahal(ST) recorded voter turnout of 55.60 per cent while Dumka (ST) has seen a voter turnout of 53.15 per cent and Godda 50.38 per cent. Voting in these seats will continue till 4pm.
Meanwhile, Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das has urged the voters of Santhal Pargana to participate in large number in the elections. He has asked the voters to come out and vote in order to ensure their participation in not only making a strong nation but also in the biggest festival of the democracy. A report from Jamtara, which is part of Dumka Lok Sabha seat, stated that people in booth number 215, located at Baghdhara village, have boycotted the elections over their demands of basic amenities of life, including road, water and power in their village.
