5 killed more than 30 injured as bus rams into tree in Deoghar

Deoghar, Feb 3: Five people lost their lives while another 32 were injured as a bus in which they were travelling hit a tree under Palojori Police Station area in this district today.

Police said all the occupants of the bus were returning from Dumka after participating in rally of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha in Dumka. At around 04 :00 hours the driver of the bus lost control due to which it hit a tree and was badly damaged. The bus was carrying a total of 65 people.

All the deceased which also included a child hailed from Baghmara village under Margomunda block of this district. Post the incident the locals and the police rushed the injured to local community centre while many with serious injuries have been admitted at Deoghar Sadar Hospital.

Upon receiving information former Speaker and senior JMM leader Sashank Shekhar Bhokta alongwith other party leaders reached on the spot and inquired into the health conditions of the injured.

The deceased has been identified as Bandan Hansda Surajmuni Soren Panwati Soren Logumuni Murmu and Sunil Marandi. (UNI)
