Youth injured as Pakistan shells border villages on LoC, India retaliates

Jammu, May 31 : A youth suffered injuries when Pakistan shelled forward villages along the Line of Control in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir. One Mohammad Yasir (25) of Gohlad Mohalla Navni and several animals were injured in cross border shelling in Balakote and Mendhar sectors in District Poonch.

He was shifted to Sub district hospital Mendhar for treatment, police here said. Pakistan initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation by firing with Small Arms and intense shelling with Mortars late on Saturday night along LoC in Balakote & Mendhar sectors. Defence spokesperson here said that at about 2300 hours on Saturday, Pakistan initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation by firing with Small Arms & intense shelling with Mortars along LoC in Balakote & Mendhar sectors in District Poonch.
