Jammu, May 30 : As a part of Psychological Task Force constituted by Directorate of School Education Jammu, over 100 teachers having expertise in psychology will ensure mental health and well-being of students in schools amid corona outbreak. "Psychological Task Force comprising more than 100 teachers will be constituted to ensure mental health of students post Covid pandemic," Anuradha Gupta Director School Education Jammu, here said on Saturday. She said that this is in addition to tele-counselling helpline and already functioning counselling cells in all Higher Secondary Schools and High Schools of Jammu division are set up.
"The psychological task force will strengthen the counselling services (psycho-social, career and child protection) in addition to performing their academic duties," said the Director. Ms Gupta said that the task force consists of more than 100 faculty members having post graduation (PG) in psychology and they will be trained on counselling skills and other well-being skills through professional organizations and resource persons. "To begin with, counselling Cell DSEJ in collaboration with Bharatiya Counselling Psychology Association (BCPA) is going to organise three-day orientation-cum-training programme on counselling skills for the task force constituted from June 1 to 3," said the Director adding that these officials then will be screened for giving them responsible assignments regarding guidance and counselling.
“The outbreak of the Covid-19 global pandemic presents a challenging time for everyone around the world. It not only poses serious medical concerns, but also brings along mixed emotions and psycho-social stress for all,” said Ms Gupta while talking to officials concerned with counselling. (UNI)
