Pak violates ceasefire on LoC in Poonch, Rajouri, India retaliates

Jammu, May 22 : Pakistan troops yet again violated the ceasefire by shelling border villages and forward posts along the Line of Control in Poonch and Rajouri districts of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday. Defence spokesman here said that Pak violated ceasefire in Krishna Ghati sector of Poonch and Nowshera Sector of Rajouri at about 0330 hours.

The Pak troops initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation by firing with Small Arms and shelling with Mortars along LoC in Krishna Ghati Sector, District Poonch. Indian Army retaliated befittingly, he said adding that again at about 0720 hours Pak initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation in Nowshera Sector of Rajouri. Indian Army is retaliating befittingly, he added. Pakistan Army on Wednesday also shelled border villages and violated the ceasefire in less than a day along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district.

Earlier on Wednesday morning, Pakistan initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation by firing with small arms and shelling with Mortars along LoC in Kirni and Degwar sectors in District Poonch. On Tuesday also Pakistan shelled forward areas and violated the ceasefire in Balakote sector of Poonch and Sunderbani sector of Rajouri. (UNI)
