Srinagar, May 13 : A youth was killed when security forces fired at a vehicle after it allegedly jumped two checkpoints despite being signaled to stop in central Kashmir district of Budgam on Wednesday. A senior police officer said that the vehicle was signaled to stop at a checkpoint established by CRPF personnel in Narbal Kawoosa in Budgam.
“The vehicles jumped this checkpoint and another one established at a distance following which security forces fired at the vehicle,” he said, adding that a person onboard was injured. He said the injured was taken to a hospital. However, sources said that the youth, identified as Mehraj-ud-din , was declared brought dead at SHMS hospital in Srinagar. (UNI)
