J&K Police dismisses tainted DSP Davinder Singh

Jammu and Kashmir Police issued an order for the dismissal of accused DSP Davinder Singh on Wednesday over Hizbul Mujahideen terror links.

The case of DSP Davinder Singh’s terror links has been transferred to NIA. NIA Director-General on Wednesday met Union Home secretary Ajay Kumar Bhalla pertaining to an investigation of a case related to former deputy SP.

Jammu and Kashmir Police officer Davinder Singh, who was arrested for ferrying two Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists, has been dismissed from the Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday.

The Jammu and Kashmir police had on Sunday intercepted a vehicle and arrested Singh along with two top Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists Naveed Baba, a district commander of the banned outfit, and Altaf, while they were travelling together. Police officials said that Singh has committed a "heinous crime" and will be dealt like the other arrested militants. A lawyer, who was working as an overground worker for terror outfits, was also arrested.
