Srinagar, Nov 27 : Jammu and Kashmir government has ordered a magisterial probe into the damage caused to a shrine of Hazrat Mir Mohammad Syed Ali Hamdani after miscreants set it on fire in the wee hours of Tuesday at Tral in south Kashmir district of Pulwama, official sources said on Wednesday.
Lt Governor Girish Chandra Murmu has strongly condemned the incident and asked Director General of Police (DGP) to ensure proper security of all shrine and other holy places in the valley.
The Deputy Commissioner (DC), Pulwama has appointed Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) to conduct a probe into the burning of the shrine.
He has been directed to complete the inquiry and file the report.
Massive protests erupted after the incident and people alleged that administration and local management of the shrine have failed to install CCTV cameras and other security measures to ensure safety of the holy place.
However, the protestors dispersed after the district administration assured proper probe into the incident. (UNI)
